On July 3rd we went to "The Singing Flag" in Concord, where Calvary Temple in Pittsburg puts on a patriotic program followed by fireworks. It was a fun show, or would have been if Jack had been old enough to pay attention and if we had really been able to see from our spot. Maybe next year. During the fireworks, Jack needed to hide under the blanket and cry, but to his credit, during the real 4th of July fireworks the next night, he only needed his ears held and eyes covered by the blanket. No crying! We made progress! I guess he figured we survived the first night--maybe we'd be okay for the next night too!
Here's the only 4th of July picture we took:

When we went to Oklahoma in May, my Great Aunt Louise bought a western shirt for Jack, and my Uncle David bought him a pair of boots to match. So cute! We had a photo shoot with the outfit today. Here are the two best pics:

My sister-in-law Pamela had her baby on Monday evening, 7/6/09. Riley Grace weighed 7 lbs., 13 oz., and measured 20 inches long. To my annoyance, I forgot my camera when we visited them Tuesday evening. I hope to visit them again soon so I can take (and post) pictures of my new niece and her cute family!
